Planet Jumper - america travel guide

America

map of america soon

So many cities are already existing about this continent and since it's probably your home continent we will try and focus on finding those less known places or the small oasis's inside the most known vacation spots. This section of the travel guide will include information and facts on USA, Canada, South / Latin America, and the Caribbean. We will among other places be looking at: Tahiti, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Alaska.

Given the vast size of this continent it's given we can include everything about everything, but I have a few places I really love both in USA and Canada, these are well suited both for your family holiday and outdoor vacation. Rather then try and feet everything into this guide, we do hope though that maybe you'll find some the subject.

For a start I have compiled a list of informative travel litrature and fact books, you might find both useful and maybe more importantly inspirational.

  • Frommer's New York City 2004

Also known as Sin City and dumbed itself entertainment capital of the world it's Spanish name Las Vegas means The Meadows reflecting the grassland seen along the desert streams by the early Spanish explorers of the area. The cities modernizations came with the rail-road in 1905 and the main growth started in the 1930s, Las Vegas first casino was established in 1946 and the foundation for the large expansion that came with the industry in 60s and 70s when it cemented itself as sin city.

After a sleepy period of trying to brand it self as a family place Las Vegas has again risen as haven for street clubs, and fashion designer stores offers the best of everything money can buy, it's by far an adult version of a kids theme park. And tough the gangsters seem to be gone you can't help, but feel like a movie cast.

If you want a break from The Venetian or MGM Mirage you could try setting of a day to see the rest of what Nevada's capital has to offer. Take a stroll trough Lake Mead National Recreation Area, and the Hoover Dam are nearby. Or visit The Nevada State Museum and Historical Society that features exhibits on Nevada's history.
